The Grewars could surely only be growers, and they’ve been farming the fertile soil of Perthshire for over 100 years. They provide us with Kestrel potatoes, and always harvest them with a nice clean–skin finish, so they look good and taste even better.
At last, a reason to celebrate the Scottish climate! It brings out the best in our rich soil, and makes it perfect for growing our perfect potatoes. And these beauties are in no rush. It takes a whopping 200 days of careful cultivation to go from planting our tatties to harvesting them. Tatt seems a long time….but tattily worth it.
The potatoes are planted in late March and April and harvested in August and September.
Potato plants are pollinated by insects like bees, which is why all our growers strive to work better with nature, for instance by only providing produce in its right season, minimising the use of chemicals and finding new ways to encourage wildlife on the farms.
